Colt U.S. Army Model 1909 double action revolver. Made 1911. Military version of the Colt New Service. Top of the barrel with its normal patent dates. Left side of the barrel is marked "COLT D.A. 45". Underside of the barrel is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY". Inspector stamps "R.A.C." on the frame, bottom of the grip panels, and cylinder. Rampant pony on the left side of the frame as well. Matching numbers on the frame, crane, and butt. Round steel barrel with blade front sight. Lanyard ring still present. Original blued finish on the metal components. Smooth, oil finished wood grips. CONDITION: Metal retains 75% of its original finish with general wear and handling marks. Some light scratches on the frame. Grips are near excellent. Bore is clean with sharp rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder. Sharp timing and lockup. Light drag lines on the cylinder. JWA
