Colt Single Action Army revolver. Made 1900. 2 line address on the top of the barrel, marked "COLT's PT. F.A. MFG. CO./HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A.". Right side of the barrel is marked "45 COLT". This mark was restamped at some point. No engraver's markings found. Standard patent date on the left side of the frame. Matching serials on the frame, trigger guard, and butt. In Sheriff's model configuration, with a round steel barrel with blade front sight and v-notch cutout rear. Gun was refinished at some point, and engraved, with scroll engraving on the barrel, frame, cylinder and grip straps. Factory Colt brown hard rubber grips. CONDITON: Metal retains 75% of its finish with general wear and handling marks. Grips have wear to the checkering. Bore is clean with crisp rifling. Mechanically inoperable as the gun likes to stick on half cock. Will need adjustment to work properly. JWA
