Classic configuration of the Remington 1875. Designed as a contemporary competitor to the Colt Single action army. Contoured blade front sight, drift adjustable notch rear sight. 2 piece ivory grips relief carved on left scale with a grizzly bear. Gun has been engraved with near complete coverage of reasonably well cut acanthus scroll on a floral background, with areas of crosshatch patterns and geometrics. Frame is marked “B/G/12” under left grip and appears to be a newer cut, possibly engraver signature. CONDITION: Good, as completely stripped of original finish when prepared for engraving. Some scattered areas of staining from exposure, with some areas of light pitting. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is good with visible rifling and some pitting throughout. Engraving is crisp. A nice example. EW
