Massachusetts Arms Company Maynard Primed Pocket Revolver made by the Massachusetts Arms Company, Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts. This model is the earlier model with the manually revolved cylinder. Gun has octagon rifled hinged barrel in .28 caliber marked on top “Mass. Arms Co. Chicopee Falls”. 6 shot manually controlled revolver with button release in trigger guard. Engraved frame with sliding door with Maynard tape priming system. Walnut plain 2 piece grips. Gun comes in period velvet lined hinged mahogany case with key, small brass bag flask, brass 2 cavity mold, and pack of tape primers. CONDITION: Metal turning a plum patina with some light surface corrosion. Grips appear to have original varnish with small chip out of right grip. Dark bore with button for cylinder not holding. All accessories in good shape with lid of case having a stress crack across with some dings and marks. Interesting little gun. DLM
