Integral half moon front sight, small notch rear sight on latch. 2 piece smooth walnut grips with non-rotatable lanyard loop at butt. Top strap with single line patent and address information, with August 69 last date and ending in “RUSSIAN MODEL”. Someone has ground off the trigger spur at one point, but due to age of the modification it is likely period. Right grip with matching serial number. Butt with serial number and “1874” in lozenge. CONDITION: Good, essentially a smooth gunmetal grey throughout with scattered areas of darkness. Some traces of blue are visible in the most protected areas, such as inside the inset area of recoil shield. Strap screw is missing and someone has executed a rudimentary repair with MarineTex. Action works appropriately (opening lever quite stiff) when cycled by hand, bore is good with strong rifling and pitting throughout. EW
