Lot consists of (A) Germanic composite flintlock rifle. The round tapered smoothbore barrel has a tapered top flat. Early Germanic banana lock with molding at tail. Germanic brass furniture that shows similarities to early American rifles. The walnut stock has a sliding wooden patchbox on the right side and is carved with relief designs behind cheekpiece and around barrel tang. CONDITION: Barrel has an applied brown finish, rear copper sight replaced. Lock reconverted. Patchbox lid is a replacement and entire stock is pieced together and replaced beginning just in front of the lock. (B) Germanic flintlock fowler. The 2 stage barrel is unmarked. Early Germanic lock with molding towards the tail. Engraved brass European style furniture. Walnut stock with relief carved designs and wooden patchbox. CONDITION: About 10 - 1/2" of barrel and forestock have been replaced. Lock is a good professional reconversion. Carving has been added or enhanced.
