The rifled round barrel is stamped with a "P" cartouche and "LS US" on the breech. Tang dated 1828. The flat lockplate with rounded tail section also dated 1828, center stamped "US/H. DERINGER/PHILADA". Standard Model 1817 furniture. Walnut stock stamped with "LS" cartouche for inspector Luther Sage. Features an iron horizontally opening patchbox. CONDITION: All iron components retain a dark heavy brown patina. Bore shows heavy wear and is dark. Lock is a good professional reconversion. Stock shows scattered marks from use.
