Both circa 1810-1820. The quality of English pistols in the 19th century was well known and they were highly sought after. These pistols are Belgian made copies of Ketland & Company flintlock pistols, as evidenced by the "ELG" stamped on the top of both breeches. Both pistols have brass barrels and faux British proofs on the left sides of breeches and "ELG" for Liege on top. Locks are in the Ketland style and marked with faux "KETLAND & CO." markings. Brass sergeant's quality furniture with sparse engraving. Plain walnut stocks with brass-tipped wooden ramrods. CONDITION: Both very good overall. Both barrels have a pleasing dark mustard patina. Locks are original flint and both function properly, one cock has been broken at the neck and repaired during period of use. Stocks very good with some minor scattered marks. An attractive pair of brass-barreled officer's pistols. DMG
