Lot consists of (A) Remington Derringer with top strap reading "E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, NY / ELLIOT'S PATENT DEC 12TH 1865". Blued barrels, fire blued small parts, stainless frame, dark wood grips. Engraved in floral pattern with approximately 1/3rd coverage between barrels and frame. Signed Willie B. Ellis under barrels. Housed in a small walnut case with forest green lining and ammo block with 4 rounds of .41 Short. CONDITION: Very good as custom embellished and refinished, retaining the majority of the blue on barrels with some marks form handling and storage since custom work. Barrel legends somewhat soft. Frame is good with crisp engraving and some fine oxidation and small scratches. Action works appropriately, bore is fair with some visible rifling and oxidation throughout. Case is good with some rubs to exterior and separation at at joints. (B) Silver plated S&W No. 1 with half moon front sight, notch rear sight, 7 shot cylinder. Brass frame is silver plated and engraved across backstrap "Presented To D.S. Yohn 1867" and "By His Bro W.Y.". House in a S&W gutta percha case with ammo block in interior. CONDITION: Very good, retaining most of the silver plate with rubbing to brass on high edges and barrel with spotted darkness. Grips are excellent with some marks from handling, particularly right scale. Engraving is legible but somewhat softened from hand rubbing. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is good with strong rifling and some pitting throughout. Box is good, with several cracks and chips in gutta percha, not uncommon for this material. A nice pair of decorative pistols. EW
