Circa 1940s U.S. Propellers Inc airplane propeller. U.S. Propellers Inc manufactured propellers for civilian and military aircraft during the 1940s. Some of their smaller propellers were fitted to target drones during World War II. This propeller is crafted from wood featuring a clear lacquer finish with yellow painted ends and brass edging. The bottom of the center hub is marked with the specifications "US / PROPELLERS / DES 43K10107 / SER 20647". The bottom of the hub is also marked with "U.S.P. / 1" in circle and the World War II US Army Air Force "AN" Inspector Stamp. These types of propellers were fitted to Grasshopper aircraft during World War II. There are 2 U.S. Propeller decals on each end of the wood blades that read "U.S. Propellers, Inc. Los Angeles, Calif.". The propeller comes with a hand made mount from the previous consigner. CONDITION: The propeller exhibits various scratches and scuffs along with a significant strike at the end of the right tip of the propeller. Despite the blemishes the propeller is in good condition for its age and will display well. This propeller is not airworthy. JLD
