Circa 1940s Fahlin D585 A48 airplane propeller. Ole Fahlin was a Swedish aviator and skilled craftsman who spent his life manufacturing propellers and aviation products. His propellers were renowned for their performance and he even manufactured propellers for the US government during World War II. This propeller is crafted from wood featuring a clear lacquer finish with gold painted ends and brass edging. The right of the center hub is marked "FAHLIN D585 A48 / N 029719 H.P. 85 /R.P.M. 2575 / ATC 681". The back of the center hub is marked "585A48 / WPC". Propellers marked with the drawing number D-585-48 were manufactured to fit the 85 horsepower Continental C85 engines in Luscombe 8 aircraft. There are 2 Fahlin decals on each end of the wood blades that read "Superior Performance / Fahlin / Propellers / Columbia, MO, U.S.A.". The propeller comes with a hand made mount from the previous consigner. CONDITION: The propeller exhibits various scratches and scuffs but is in overall good condition. This propeller is only recommended for use hanging on a wall or exhibited with an aircraft on permanent static display. JLD
