World War II 1943 Granby Aviation Limited airplane propeller. Granby Aviation Limited of Granby, Quebec, manufactured propellers for military aircraft during World War II. This propeller is crafted from wood featuring a clear lacquer finish with brass edging. The bottom of the center hub is marked with the specifications "DIA. 88 / PIT 834 / CHEETAH X / MAY 43". The left side of the center hub is marked "SER. E1397" and the right side of the center hub is marked "R.S. 3.44" and C-LA-613C". The Cheetah X engine was produced between 1935 and 1948 and was equipped to several World War II aircraft including the Airspeed Oxford. There are 2 Granby decals on each end of the wood blades that read "Granby Aviation Limited". The propeller comes with a hand made mount from the previous consigner. CONDITION: The propeller exhibits scratches and there are 2 dents on both tips. This propeller is not airworthy and should only be used for display purposes. Overall very good. This is a great example of a wartime production propeller that would make and excellent display in an office, home, or aviation collection. JLD
