Barrels decorated with engraved stands of arms highlighted in gold, rib decorated with damascened gold geometrics and some lightly engraved decorations en suite. Left barrel with a Crown over eagle proof. Barrel retained by 3 pins. Ramrod in channel with reinforced mouth and floral finial. Trigger guard with 2 triggers set up for left-handed use, fore trigger significantly smaller to avoid damage to shooter's finger under recoil. Locks with waterproof pans, tailed pan covers, simple filed small cocks in the French style. Wood at tang has been relief carved with florals. Simple pommel cap with long stirrups. CONDITION: Very good, metal has been lightly cleaned, barrels very carefully cleaned to avoid damaging gold, with some spotting on metal throughout. Barrels have gold lifting in several areas, retaining more than half, with some designs washed out. Wood has numerous bumps and dings from age and a repaired crack through the wrist. Some few minor chips at wood to metal fits. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, although left sear is very loose and does not always hold open. Bores are good. A nicely decorated flintlock in a rather unusual size. EW
