Lot consists of (A) Mossberg Brownie Pepperbox pistol. Made 1920s. Left side of the barrel is marked "O.F. MOSSBERG & SONS/NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A.", while the right side of the barrel is marked "PAT. JULY 27. 1920". Left side of the frame is marked "BROWNIE". Matching internal side plates. Blade front sight with U-notch cutout rear. Blued finish on the metal components worn to a brown patina in areas. Serrated wood grips. CONDITION: Metal retains 65% of its original finish with brown patina forming on most of the metal components. Grips are excellent. Bores have frosting and pitting. Good overall rifling. Mechanically fine. (B) Mossberg Brownie Pepperbox pistol. Made circa 1919. Left side of the barrel is marked "O.F. MOSSBERG & SONS/NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A.", while the right side of the barrel is marked "PAT. APPLD. FOR". Left side of the frame is marked "BROWNIE". Matching internal side plates. Blade front sight with U-notch cutout rear. Blued finish on the metal components worn to a brown patina in areas. Serrated wood grips. CONDITION: Metal retains 65% of its original finish with grayish patina forming in areas. Wood grips are heavily worn, leaving few serrations. Frosted bore with pitting. Good rifling retained. Mechanically fine. JWA
