Savage Model 1895 commemorative lever action rifle. Made 1970 to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Savage Arms. Patent dates on the barrel, over "HI-PRESSURE STEEL-PROOF-TESTED-CAL.308 WIN". Savage proofs on the chamber. Gold inlay scroll engraving on both side of the frame. Right side of the frame reads, "MODEL/1895", while the left side is marked "SAVAGE/ARMS". Commemorative coin in the right side of the stock. Octagon steel barrel with gold plated front sight and V-notch buckhorn style rear. Lever and butt plate are also gold plated. Rest of the metal components retain their factory blued finish. Factory drilled for scope blocks. Oil finished wood stocks. CONDITION: Metal retains 95% or more of its original finish with a few handling marks and scratches. Wood is excellent. Bore is shiny with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. Looks to be unfired from the factory. JWA
