Remington Rand 1911A1 semi automatic pistol. Made 1943. Right side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and "M1911A1 U.S. ARMY". Crossed cannons ordnance stamp on the heel of the frame. Left side of the frame is marked "REMINGTON RAND INC./SYRACUSE, N.Y. U.S.A.". Left side of the frame marked with the correct "FJA" inspectors cartouche. Barrel is marked "HS" (High Standard) on the right lug and "P" on the left lug. Standard blade front sight and U-notch rear. Post-War arsenal reapplied parkerized finish. Checkered Keyes fiber grips. Blued steel magazine with "G" marked on the lip. CONDITION: Metal retains 95% of its arsenal reapplied finish with some light wear and handling marks. Grips are very good, minus a hairline crack in the bottom of the left panel. Clean bore with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. Magazine has light finish wear. JWA
