Colt 1911 semi automatic pistol with box. Made 1914. Right side of the slide is marked "MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY". Left side of the slide is marked "PATENTED APR.201897.SEPT.9.1902/DEC.19.1905 FEB.14.1911.AUG.19.1913" followed by a rampant Colt pony and "COLT'S PT.F.A. MFG. CO/HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.". Left side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and the Augusta Arsenal rebuild stamp "AA". Barrel is marked "P" on the left lug. Standard half moon front sight and U-notch rear. Arsenal applied parkerized finish most likely done during World War II. Checkered Keyes fiber grips. Blued steel magazine marked "R" on the lip for Risdon. Includes "ANNISTON ORDANCE DEPOT" marked box. CONDITION: Metal retains 95% of its arsenal reapplied finish with a few handling marks and scratches. Grips are excellent with a few scratches. Bore is clean with very good rifling. Mechanically excellent. Magazine has light finish wear. Box is fair with rips on the end tab and lid. JWA
