Lot consists of (A) English boxlock flintlock with bayonet and barrel made integrally. Brass frame with Birmingham proof on bottom and stand of arms engraving on right side, with geometrics on left. Plain slabside walnut grips. Bayonet made in a clip point shape. CONDITION: Good. Barrel and bayonet wih an even pitting throughout with an old addition of finish that has darkened. Blade has some chips in cutting edge. Brass frame has some marks throughout, but a pleasant mustard hue. Grips are very good, dry, with rubbing to high edges and a splotch of old dry adhesive on left side of grip. (B) Unmarked percussion derringer with German silver furniture. Unmarked, lightly engraved with scroll. Brass shield at wrist. False rifled barrel with "rifling" ending almost immediately for easier barrel removal. Housed in a walnut case with blue lining and containing accessories comprising a cap tin from Winchester, a bullet mold, case key, and small powder flask. A reproduction Republic of Texas 3 dollar bill is glued into lid. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is very good. CONDITION: Fair. Large section of wood above lock has been splice repaired when lock kicked and damaged wood. Similar break at wrist with spliced in band that appears to run through wrist. Numerous other cracks and dings that have been repaired with wood fill. Cock possibly a replacement. Barrel has had finish added over some areas of fine oxidation. Box is very good, accessories are very good. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is very good with a minimum of oxidation. EW
