Lot consists of (A) Savage Model 1899 takedown with brass counter. Blued solid frame action and round barrel. Adjustable rear sight with fixed replacement front sight. Walnut stocks with pistol grip butt and Schnabel splinter forearm. Action has been drilled and tapped and has Weaver scope bases attached. Steel butt. Lever safety. CONDITON: Stocks have been sand with finish added. Barrel retain 90% of reblue and action has softened to a gray brown patina. Mechanic function by hand and bore is good (B) 1926 dated Winchester Model 53 features round barrel, sporting front sight, adjustable Marbles sporting rear sight, traditional 2 line Winchester barrel address, 2 piece varnished walnut stocks with half magazine and button magazine cap. The receiver has been drilled and tapped for a scope. Introduced in 1924 and manufactured through 1936. A total production of under 22,000 model 53 Winchesters were ever produced. CONDITION: Barrel retains traces of blue fading to brown patina. Bore is lightly frosted with strong rifling. Stocks show heavy usage with a chip near the top tang and are loose on the frame. Action has faded to a soft brown. Mechanics are are tight and functions by hand. JTH
