Mauser C96 "Red 9" self-loading pistol in 9mm with shoulder stock. The Imperial German contract for 150,000 these pistols was filled between 1916 and 1918. Right side of the lower receiver is marked "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER, OBERNDORF A. NECKAR", and the top of the barrel assembly is marked "WAFFENFARIK MAUSER, OBERNDORF A/N", with Imperial German "U" proofs on those same assemblies. Eagle stamp on bottom of trigger guard. Matching serial numbers are present on both the upper and lower assemblies, inside both grip panels, hammer, bolt assembly, bolt release, and hammer assembly. No other numbers are visible. Serial number matches the range of serial numbers produced between 1916 and 1918. Original blued finish is present on all metal parts. No import mark. The correct late adjustable rear sight is present and marked from 50 to 500 meters. Right side sight adjustment button is missing. Inner magazine components are present and functional. "Red 9" grips have almost no visible paint left, and only tiny traces can only be seen on several grips grooves. Entire "MAUSER" stamped wood stock assembly with steel fittings is a reproduction. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. Blued components retain 70-75% of their finish, with graying patina, and light freckling, especially on the upper barrel. Rear sight assembly is missing its elevation slider button. Entire wood/metal stock assembly is a reproduction, with the wood exhibiting light wear and the metal fittings moderate wear. Bore has strong rifling and is dark, and likely to clean up. Mechanically fine. WZ
