Lot consist of: (A) British Proofed Smith & Wesson M&P Model of 1905 4th Change double action revolver. Made circa 1941. Top of the barrel is marked "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A./PATENTED FEB.6.06,SEPT.14.09,DEC.29.14". Company logo on the right side of the frame, in addition to "MADE IN U.S.A.". "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" marked on the top of the frame. British Birmingham proofs on the barrel, frame and cylinder. "W.B." inspector proofs on the butt, in addition to an ordnance flaming bomb. Matching serials on the butt, barrel, and cylinder. Matching assembly numbers on the frame and crane. 6 shot fluted cylinder. Square butt frame, with lanyard stud and ring. Pinned round steel barrel with half moon front sight and U-notch cut out rear. Factory blued finish on the metal components. Case colored serrated trigger with a knurled spurred hammer. Oil finished plain wood grips. Includes a gold Smith & Wesson box with papers, serial numbered to a different gun. CONDITION: Metal retains 70% of its original finish with some wear, handling marks, and blemishes. Grips have a few handling marks and scratches. Clean bore with very good overall rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder. Good timing and lockup. Drag lines on the cylinder. Mechanically fine. Box is excellent with light edge wear. (B) Smith & Wesson Victory Model double action revolver. Made circa 1944-45. Top of the barrel is marked "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A./PATENTED FEB.6.06,SEPT.14.09,DEC.29.14". Company logo on the right side of the frame, in addition to "MADE IN U.S.A.". Top of the frame is marked "U S PROPERTY G.H.D" in between two flaming bombs. Matching serials on the butt, barrel and cylinder. Matching assembly numbers on the frame and crane. 6 shot fluted cylinder. Square butt frame, with lanyard stud and ring. Pinned round steel barrel with half moon front sight and u-notch cut out rear. Factory parkerized finish on the metal components. Case colored serrated trigger with a knurled spurred hammer. Aftermarket plastic grips a carved eagle on both panels. CONDITION: Metal retains 75% of its original finish with general wear and a few handling marks. Left grip panel is cracked clean through. Both grips have handling marks and scratches. Clean bore with crisp rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder. Good timing and lockup. Drag lines on the cylinder. Mechanically fine. JWA
