This example is mounted with Colt 2-piece hard rubber grips and features a 5 - 1/2" barrel which is fitted with a fixed blade front sight and features a notched rear sight on the frame. Metal components have been pleasantly restored, with the frame and hammer being polished in-the-white and the rest of the components being reblued. Frame, grip straps, and cylinder are matching. Bottom of butt is unnumbered, with the frame serial number being present on the right side of the grip straps beneath the grips. Loading gate assembly number matches frame assembly number. Barrel has been replaced and is unnumbered. CONDITION: Metal components retain bountiful amounts of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting few minor areas of wear and showing markings beneath the finish from cleaning. Frame shows striations and some marks from cleaning, as well as a few minute areas of age related discoloration. Bore is bright and retains good rifling throughout. 2-piece hard rubber grips show smoothing all around, with some scattered nicks and indentations. Left grip panel bears four strike marks on the rear of the butt. A nice and restored example of a Colt Single Action Army revolver manufactured in 1922. -MLW-
