Colt Detective Special double action revolver with box. Made 1979. "DETECTIVE SPEC./.38 SPECIAL CTG." on the left side of the barrel. Right side of the barrel is marked "COLT'S PT.F.A. MFG. CO./HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A". Rampant Colt pony on the left side of the frame. "VP" proof on the trigger guard. Round steel barrel with blade front sight and U-notch cut out rear. Factory blued finish with a polished hammer. Smooth oil finished wood grips with gold Colt medallions. Includes serial matching wood grain box and manual. CONDITION: Metal retains 98% or more of its original finish with a few handling marks. Grips are excellent. Bore is shiny with crisp rifling. Possibly unfired from the factory. Tight hammer and cylinder. Sharp timing. Very light drag line on the cylinder. Mechanically fine. Box has edge wear, and has been taped. JWA
