Pre-World War II German Mauser ES 340 B bolt action .22 LR sporting rifle. Made mid-1930s in Germany. Left side of the barrel is marked "PATRONE 22 LONG RIFLE". Right side of barrel is patent marked "D.R.P. D.R.G.M.". Left side of the receiver is marked "MAUSER-WERKE A.G. OBERNDORF A.N.". Pre-War "BUG" proofs on the receiver, barrel, and bolt. Mauser logo on the crest of the receiver and butt plate. Strong Mauser cartouche on the right side rear of the stock. No import mark. Matching serial numbers on the barrel, receiver, and bolt. Round steel target barrel with removable front sight blade. Correct original uncommon front sight hood is present. Checkered trigger guard. Oil finished wood stock, with US style military sling attached. CONDITION: Excellent. Metal retains approximately 90% of its original blued finish with light wear. Mauser marked steel butt plate exhibits 50-55% light freckling. Wood has handling marks and scratches. Clean bore with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. WZ
