Lot consists of (A) Ishapore Refurbished British No. 4 MK 1/2 bolt action rifle. Made 1940s by another Commonwealth arsenal (no makers marks found), and refurbished by Ishapore in 1960. Right side of the stock socket is marked "F.R./1960/R.F.I.". Left side of the receiver is marked "NO-4Mk1/2". Right side of the buttstock is marked "S(broad arrow)A/I". A number of parts are Savage marked, including the rear adjustable ladder sight. Import marked on the end of the barrel. Matching serials on the receiver, bolt, and forestock. Magazine has been forced match to match the gun. Metal has been arsenal refinished. Wood stock has been arsenal refinished as well. CONDITION: Metal retains 70% of its finish wearing to a nice gray finish on most places. There is an arsenal repair on the left side of the stock, in front of the stock socket. Forestock has been drilled, possibly for a reinforcement bolt. Otherwise, the wood has mild handling marks and scratches. Bore is lightly frosted with sharp rifling. Mechanically fine. (B) British Fazakerley No.5 MK 1 Jungle Carbine bolt action carbine. Made "5/47" as marked on the left side of the receiver. British proofs on the receiver and barrel. Correct lightening cuts on the chamber area of the barrel. No import mark found. Matching serials on the barrel, receiver, bolt and magazine. Correct black enamel finish on the metal components. Oil finished wood stocks, having been lightly sanded. Correct rubber butt pad having been hardened with age. CONDITION: Metal retains 50% of its original black finish with wear and handling marks. Light surface rust on the forearm plate. Butt pad has cracks and signs of age. Wood stock has been lightly sanded, with a few handling marks. Bore is lightly frosted with very good overall rifling.
