Manufactured in 1891. This was Colt's second model of double action. It has a single action front sight, 6 shot fluted cylinder, bird's head grip with 2 piece hard rubber grips. The action works in both single and double action. It indexes and locks up tight. 1 line address on top of the barrel and "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" on left side of barrel. It also has a factory installed lanyard loop on the grip. CONDITION: It is in superior condition for a gun that is 130 years old. The original nickel finish is approximately 92% with just a slight loss of finish at the front of the cylinder and where the frame meet. There are a few small handling and storage marks scattered across the finish. Most of the nitre blue is left on the trigger and hammer. The niter blue screws are unmolested. 2 piece hard rubber grip panels show just a slight bit of normal wear. No chips or cracks. Fantastic bore with sharp lands and grooves. A very high condition 1878 DA. REW
