Originally manufactured as a Colt New Service double action revolver in 1910. At a later date converted with 19" round barrel with solid rib, half moon front sight, adjustable U-notch rear sight and "GRF" marking. Caliber marked on barrel as ".44 WCF". Standard checkered composite grips are retained, with an added plain walnut forestock mounted to barrel. A detachable checkered walnut carbine stock has been added with a mounting lug brazed onto the rear grip strap. Frame marked with "S" stamp likely denoting ownership by Stembridge Gun Rentals, providers of movie prop guns during Hollywood's golden years. CONDITION: Fair. Portions of thinned reapplied blued finish are retained with large areas taking on a brown patina. Evidence of pitting on frame and metal components of stock. Several filled holes present on the barrel rib. Stocks and grips very good with expected marks. Butt stock loose. Fair bore with some pitting. Indexes correctly. Frame and crane marked with matching serial numbers. BAS
