Remington "New Model" percussion revolving rifle made by E. Remington and Sons from 1866 to 1879 with less than 1000 made. Blued octagonal rifled barrel with marked "Patented Sept 14 1858" over "E. Remington and Sons Ilion, New York U.S.A." / "New Model" with dovetail blade front sight and rear notched rifle sight. 6 shot percussion cylinder. Case hardened frame with iron finger loop trigger guard. Walnut plain stock with iron crescent buttplate. CONDITION:40% fading blue on barrel with surface corrosion. 10% fading case colors with some light surface pitting. Trigger guard has age surface corrosion. Wood has old added coat of varnish with period pin repair at wrist. Dark bore with good mechanics. DLM
