A very nice example of a John Bolliger signature series custom rifle with 23" blued steel barrel. John Bolliger began creating custom rifles in 1966 and is now regarded as one of the top rifle makers. This handsome rifles barrel is fitted with a spear point quarter rib that is stippled and has a standing rear sight regulated for 50 yards and a second sight which is folding and regulated for 300 yards, both with gold triangular markings. Front ramped bladed island sight with hood is stippled. Barrel with eye for sling and thin double gold bands at muzzle. Barrel reads "Four Fifty ACKLEY MAGNUM" This rifle is built on a Winchester Model 70 Action and with a jeweled bolt body. Action with Winchester 3 position wing safety. Blued bolt handle has 5 nicely checkered panels. Rifle is mounted with a handsome right hand palm swelled walnut pistol grip stock and is nicely checkered. Stock with sling swivel stud, steel grip cap, shadow line cheek piece, and a black lined Decelerator recoil pad. The forend with ebony tip has matched checkering. Includes a Swarovski 3-9x36A Habicht scope on quick detach mount system. Rifle is accompanied by approximately 80 rounds of custom loaded A-Square ammunition. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retains 99% plus original finish with a few very light handling marks and a few light handling marks in the stock. Mechanically excellent.
