32 - 1/2" barrel chambered for .50-70 and mounted with graduated ladder sight. Arched breechblock marked "MODEL / 1870 / (Eagle Head) / U.S." and 1864 dated lock plate marked with federal eagle and "U.S. SPRINGFIELD". Full length walnut stock mounted with 2 iron bands, 2 piece trigger guard, and "US" marked butt plate. Stock marked with 2 faint cartouches and a "34" near the butt plate. CONDITION: Very good. Barrel in the white with some spots of darker patina. Receiver exhibits a darker gray patina with significant portion of the faded case colors visible on the hammer. Stock very good with a few scattered impressions. Very good bore with crisp rifling. Fine mechanics. BAS
