Standard issue 32 - 5/8" blued barrel with "V / P / (Eagle Head)" proof chambered for .45-70 and fitted with "R" marked graduated rear rifle sight. Barrel is retained by 2 blued iron bands to a full length walnut stock. Stock marked with script "SWP / 1884" cartouche and circle "P" proof at wrist. Low arch breech block marked "US / MODEL / 1873". Blued side plate marked with federal eagle and "U.S. / SPRINGFIELD". Complete with cleaning rod, period leather sling, and "US" marked socket bayonet with scabbard. CONDITION: Good as completely refinished. Metal components retain nearly all of their reapplied high polish blued finish with markings faint. Stock lightly sanded with a few handling marks. Bright shootable bore with some light corrosion. Fine mechanics. BAS
