Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor rifle made at Springfield Armory made in 1888. Blued round rifled musket barrel with pinned blade front sight and Buffington rear sight and "VP / Eagle" proof. Blued wide receiver action with blued low arch breech block marked "Model 1884". 3 position blued lock plate with "Eagle" and "US Springfield" markings. Walnut full military stock with "SWP 1887" cartouche in box with angled corners. Blued hardware with U.S. marked non-trap buttplate. Comes with steel ramrod. CONDITION: 50% fading original finish with balance turning a brown patina. Wood has traces of original finish with usage marks and dings. Good shootable bore with good mechanics. DLM
