30" blued barrel chambered for .30-40 Army with upgraded Model 1901 rear sight and blade front. Stock mounted with two blued bands with sling provisions and a trap butt plate containing the cleaning rod. Stock marked with an illegible cartouche. Receiver marked "U.S./MODEL 1896. SPRINGFIELD ARMORY. 58669". Included is a period leather sling. CONDITION: Very good. Retains significant portions of thinning original bluing with losses and areas of brow patina. Some corrosion on butt plate. Stock lightly sanded and has several small splits and a small section replaced near the action. Good bore with strong rifling. Fine mechanics. BAS
