Springfield Model 1895 Krag Carbine same as the Model 1896 and made prior to the adoption of the Model 1896. Gun is in correct serial number range with serial number being "30216". Gun has blued 22" round rifled barrel with integral front sight with pinned sight blade. Rear 2000 yard graduated flip sight with correct "C" marking. Blued action with 1895 date marking and no word "Model". Walnut wood finger groove stock with blued hardware including front high hump barrel band. Buttplate has trap with cleaning rod and oiler (Flaydermann states gun should be uncut for oiler?). CONDITION: 70% original blue fading to a silvery patina with some slight surface pitting near muzzle and on trigger guard. Wood has aged patina with traces of original varnish and usage marks and dings. Dark shootable bore with good mechanics. DLM
