Rare Hoffer-Thompson .22 caliber Gallery Practice rifle Model 1903 Springfield and made at Springfield Armory from 1907 to 1918. Survival rate is small since most were broken down for parts after World War I. Blued bored to .22 caliber barrel marked "SA" with "Flaming Bomb" and dated "4-13" with hooded banded blade front sight and rear graduated to 2800 yards rear sight. Blued action with standard 1903 markings exception rear bridge is marked "22". Standard blued bolt with no markings. Walnut finger groove stock with crossbolt marked with "JFC" inspector's marks with standard milled hardware and checkered steel buttplate. Walnut high hump top wood. CONDITION: 60% original finish on metal with some surface corrosion and handling wear. Stock has been cleaned with visible cartouche and light handling marks and dings. Good bore and mechanics and a really scarce rifle. DLM
