Springfield Model 1903 bolt action magazine rifle made at Springfield Armory in January of 1914. Round blued rifled barrel marked "SA" with Flaming Bomb and dated "8-14". Barrel has banded blade front sight and rear graduated sight to 2800 yards. Blued unmarked bolt. Walnut finger groove 2 bolt stock with correct milled trigger guard and smooth buttplate. Stock has "SA" over "SPG" in block and "JHW" inspector stamps. Walnut high hump top wood. Comes with period leather sling and "RIA" marked and 1910 dated correct bayonet with wood handle and canvas coated sheath marked "Brauer Bros 1917". CONDITION: Overall well used condition with metal having evidence of some surface pitting and fading to a silvery patina in most areas. Wood has an oil soaked appearance with heavy usage marks. Shootable bore with ME of 2 and TE of 2. Good mechanics. Bayonet has surface corrosion with an overall dirty look to it. Leather sling is cracked but still pliable. DLM
