This gun is featured on the cover and on pages 12 - 15 of "THE WINCHESTER REPEATER SPRING OF 2004" This has number 6 factory engraving and D carved stocks. The number 6 engraving has 2 panel scenes. The one on the left side is of a bighorn ram and the one on the right is of a large whitetail buck. Factory scrollwork and vignettes cover the remaining of the engraving. The factory letter states the it also has a gold plated name plate on the left side that is engraved " IDA FROM WILL DECEMBER 25, 1906"; what a Christmas gift this was. The forend cap and rifle butt plate are also engraved. The other features on the deluxe Winchester are half round half octagonal barrel. Take down action with a button magazine. Gold hammer and trigger. Fancy pistol grip stock with XX wood. Lyman front sight. It has a Marble's tang sight with a large disk. I could not find a signature on this gun. Most of these guns were attributed to John Ulrich at the time of manufacture. CONDITION: This gun has been professionally restored at some point in its life and retains 90% of the aftermarket finish. The gold trigger and hammer are approximately 95%. The stocks have been cleaned up a bit and re-varnished. Bright and shiny bore with sharp lands and grooves. The sling swivel studs have been removed and the one on the rear stock has been filled with wood putty. The front one has a screw in it. The action screws have not been molested. The factory letter states that this is a 25-20, but it is really a 32-20 W.C.F. Overall a beautiful Winchester that is factory engraved and carved. REW
