Matching numbers visible on left side of breech flat, underside of rear sight, baseplate. Follower numbered 1617 on side. Locking block numbered 1088 on side. Sear numbered 856 on side. Locking bolt number numbered. Subframe not numbered externally, numbered 1088 on left side internally. This design was extremely popular with Chinese soldiers during the Warlord period, being essentially a version of the C96 ramped up to take .45 ACP. Shansei was one of the arsenals noted for producing the .45 ACP version while others were still producing the .30 Mauser iteration. Housed in a modern production briefcase partitioned for pistol and accessories, including 21 round ammo block. Also accompanied by a recent iteration holster. CONDITION: Good, with some fine pitting visible throughout underneath an old blue refinishing. Some more recent patina throughout, alongside scattered handling marks. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is very good with strong rifling. Given the mismatched parts, someone likely recovered a parts gun and replaced parts to make a neat functional example of a rare pistol. EW
