Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Flintlock Musket built by John Miles Sr. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania circa 1800. Round smoothbore musket type barrel with stud for socket type bayonet on bottom of barrel. Barrel has no usual markings at breech. Musket has 3 iron bands with front being double banded and having a sight. Flint lock marked "MILES" and "CP" at rear with single trigger control. Walnut full musket stock with iron hardware and "No. 6" carved into the right side of the stock. Comes with original steel rod. CONDITION: Metal has overall dark patina with some pitting and light surface rust. Some screws on lock appear to be replaced. Tang is cracked. Wood has stress cracks with dark oil soaked finish. Forestock is broken under second barrel band. Wood has some slivers missing around lock. Dark bore with lock not holding cock. DLM
