Circa 1961-1976. 5” blade Marble’s “Longhorn” model with clip point blade featuring wide blood groove, marked on ricasso "MARBLE’S GLADSTONE MICH. USA". Stag handle with brass full guard and leather, fiber, and brass spacers with hexagonal steel pommel on end, identical to that developed for the U.S. Navy’s Jet Pilots Knife. The scabbard is from an issue Jet Pilots knife of the 1960s-70s era, with writing on the reverse “CDR SUMNER”. Blade with scattered spots and pits, light sharpening only, excellent condition overall. The Longhorn is a Marble’s Ideal pattern with a steel hex pommel in place of the standard aluminum; it’s sometimes referred to as a “hex pommel Ideal.”
