Unmarked hollow ground clip point blade made from a large bastard file. The handle is made of stacked green and red plexiglass, brass and aluminum spacers. An aluminum guard swells at its end with a sculpted skull complete with sunken eyes and teeth, and the aluminum pommel depicts a similar skull with faceted glass ‘jewels’ inset as ‘eyes’. Simple leather sheath constructed with harness rivets. The blade with moderate sharpening and signs of use, spotted over its surface but without deep pitting. CONDITION: Handle and sheath are in good condition. This example is constructed in a manner typical of World War II era knives crafted by soldiers and sailors during their free time. The morbid and artistic skulls on this knife make it a unique and outstanding specimen. MZ
