Lot consists of (A) An excavated Colt 1862 Police Model percussion revolver serial number "21414" with "L" under number indicating sale to England and possibly the Confederacy. Gun manufactured in 1863 with unknown excavation date and location. 6 - 1/2" round barrel with fluted 6 shot cylinder with 2 loaded chambers. Brass trigger guard and grip. CONDITION: In as found condition with heavy pitting and nonfunctioning with visible brass and missing wood and mainspring. (B) Excavated Colt 1855 Root percussion revolver Model 5 made from 1855 to 1870 with unknown recovery date and location. 3 - 1/2" stepped round barrel with empty 5 shot fluted cylinder with hammer stuck at half cock. CONDITION: As found with heavy pitting and stuck mechanics missing mainspring and wood. DLM
