Colt First Model Dragoon percussion revolver, serial number 1706. According to the consignor, this revolver was recovered along the bank of the Frio River near Pearsall, Texas circa 1972. CONDITION: Relic condition, consistent with being buried and then recovered after more than 120 years. Serial number on front of trigger guard is restamped to match with what appears to be a matching serial number on the butt (obfuscated). Trigger guard has been heavily cleaned. Backstrap was crushed and broken and then repaired at some point with brazing near bottom of backstrap and top of backstrap near retaining screws. Hammer is frozen in place and cylinder will not turn. An interesting piece of history. TON
