Gun is based on the Pattern 1853 Enfield and is converted to .577 cartridge using the Snider Conversion. Round carbine length rifled barrel with pinned blade front sight and graduated flip rear sight. Snider cartridge conversion using the original 1870 Enfield Crown marked percussion lock with single trigger control. Walnut carbine style stock with brass hardware and steel lanyard loop on the tang. Tang of buttplate marked with unit markings. CONDITION: Metal has faded to an aged patina with a plum looking overall appearance. Wood has traces of original finish with dings and usage marks. Brass has golden appearance with original cleaning rod in trap in buttplate. Good shootable bore with good mechanics. DLM
