Early conductor's lantern, probably a CD&W model with Wm Westlake removable globe patents lightly stamped in underside of base. Cage is integral with top portion and lifts off of base flange with button release for globe removal. Fount is button release from the bottom. No. 1 Dietz Convex shrouded, light oil burner affixed and functioning. Five vertical guards are wire-tied to horizontal; German silver reflector, brass frame and chimney. Clear globe has meandering crack from top. Excellent plus condition with no stress cracks noted in brass.
