American impressionist painter, Reynolds Beal (1866-1951) "Rockport Harbor", Seascape, 1942. Medium: crayon on paper. Signed and dated lower left and titled “Rockport Harbor” lower right. It is executed in crayon on canvas-textured artist paper. This piece was exhibited in Washington, D.C. at The Phillips Collection between September 18 and October 31, 1971. The following year, from January 9 to February 13, 1972, it was exhibited at the Monclair Art Museum show, Reynolds Beal. The labels are all intact on the reverse. Provenance also includes Bonhams and Butterfields. This work was also in the personal collection of author Sidney Bressler, and is included in his 1989 book, Reynolds Beal: Impressionist Landscapes and Seascapes, on page 196. This piece is accompanied by the above mentioned hardcover book with original dustcover present. Artwork has not been examined outside of its original frame and mat. Original back paper/wrapper remains intact with original labels from previous exhibitions. Very good original condition. Measurements: 10.5 x 14.25" (sight), and 16 x 19.5" framed.
