An Austrian Art Nouveau patinated cast bronze and marble “How Kola” sculpture by Carl Kauba, depicting a Native American Chief with tomahawk in hand, attacking a US Cavalry officer armed with a pistol, each figure mounted on their horses atop a red marble stone base. The sculpture is signed "Carl Kauba". C. 1900. Bronze is in excellent condition, free of any breaks, dents or repairs. The patina is very well preserved with no appreciable loss. The native American sits a bit loose on the horse, though remains firmly attached. The marble stand is in excellent condition.
