Pre-War Mauser G-Date S/42 Code P.08 Luger semi automatic pistol. Made 1935. Typical "G" marked on the chamber, and "S/42" marked on the toggle. "(Eagle)/63" proofs on the right side of the chamber and barrel. This gun has a sear safety added, meaning it most likely was police issued. No import mark found. Matching serials on the visible numbered components, minus the sear. Grips are correctly not numbered. Round, steel barrel with blade front sight and V-notch rear. Factory blued and straw finishes. Checkered wood grips. Matching aluminum bottom magazine, marked "SCHMEISSER/HAENEL" on the spine. This is magazine "2" from the original rig. CONDITION: Metal retains 90% of its original finish with general wear. Straw finish is at 60%. Grips are excellent and crisp. Bore is very lightly frosted but retains strong rifling. Mechanically fine. Magazine has light scratches. JWA
