Standard configuration P.08 manufactured by Simson & Co. Suhl in the late 1920s to the early 1930s. Chamber is blank with the right side of the receiver bearing eagle over "6", "81", as well as Eagle over "67" inspector's proofs followed by a Weimar era eagle on the right side of the receiver. German Weimar era eagle is also present on the top right side of the barrel, as well as the left side of the breechblock. Eagle/6 proofs are present on various components, with eagle/33 proofs visible on the breechblock and rear toggle link. Toggle is stamped "SIMSON & CO/ SUHL". Schiwy sear safety is present, with the Walther magazine safety being partially cut and rendered inoperable. Receiver axle's rim has been crudely shaved off. Magazine bears a spurious eagle/6 proof above a Simson "S" stamp, which is stamped over a Portuguese encircled triangle proof. Matching numbers are present on the frame, locking bolt, side plate, trigger, safety lever and bar, hold-open, barrel, receiver, trigger bar, breechblock, firing pin, extractor, toggle links, and checkered walnut grips. Receiver axle appears to been renumbered to match. CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their arsenal reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning that show through to grey and brown patina. Strawed components retain good amounts of their finish, exhibiting some wear overall as well as some spots of age-related discoloration. Bore is bright, exhibiting light oxidation and good rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing, as well as some scattered nicks to the diamonds.
