Winchester 3rd Model 1873 lever action rifle made by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1891. Blued round rifled barrel with sheared front sight and adjustable notch rear sight with Winchester address and King's Improvement markings on top. Madis states one in 6 has a round barrel. Blued third model action with plain trigger and serrated edge dust cover. Walnut plain stock with crescent steel buttplate with trapdoor and plain walnut forearm. CONDITION: Metal turning to a brown patina with areas of pitting and corrosion. Wood has oil soaked appearance with some small stress cracks behind action. Initials carved in stock. Dark pitted bore with functioning mechanics. DLM
